Southern California is often the hub of all things fantasy, but more often than not it’s about making fantasy reality. Imagine that for just one night that you are a creature of myth and legend. The stage is set and you walk into a world where faeries roam, unicorns dance and elves partake in the most delicious earthly delights. Now take a moment and breathe; what if you can have three nights of fantasy fun? What if it was all real?
Let me introduce you to a world of magic…
First up, on our list is a new Masquerade to 2014. “Lore” is a dark themed masquerade ball that will be held by the Sinister Pointe Haunted Attraction in Brea, CA. Don’t let the venue fool you, and there are no creatures of fright allowed here. It’s set to the tone of a dark carnival much like the one in Venice Italy. There will be entertainment, full bars and enough delights to sate your tastes. Creatures of the night are welcome here and I for one am excited to see a new Masquerade ball in the area. Lore will be held on April 24th and 25th, for more information visit their website: http://www.sinisterpointe.com/lore/index.html
Next on our tour through the realms is Myth Masque. Myth is High Fashion meets High Fantasy; a decadent Faerie Tale Ball themed event held in Los Angeles, CA. They strive to mix fashion and fantasy in such a stellar way that it tantalizes the senses with every step you take. This year is the 3rd year of the Masque and the theme is “Omne trium perfectum” ~ Everything that comes in threes is perfect. There are plenty of things to do throughout the ball and depending on your ticket range you could even arrive on the purple carpet by a unicorn drawn carriage. Myth spares no expense in taking care of its patrons senses. Bring your most elegant fashion driven original pieces to this event because this is the costumers hall of fame. Myth Masque is held on May 24th, for tickets and information visit: http://mythmasque.com
Last, but not least is one of the longest running fantasy events in Los Angeles. The Labyrinth of Jareth Masquerade Ball never disappoints. Its patrons are some of the most interesting and creative people that I have ever met. Labyrinth is a Sypher Arts Studio presentation that focuses on immersing you into their fantasy story throughout two magical evenings. They have various stages throughout the entire event and there is always something performing around you. Depending on which ticket tier you opt for you could have your own pavilion from which to watch the shows (and get a peek at their life sized dragon!), you can have a steampunk themed tea party or just enjoy the music with the company of other creatures. The recently announced dates for LOJ are July 4th and 5th, more imfornation about the event can be found here: http://labyrinthmasquerade.com
I hope to see you at the ball!
